Job Description

Pastoral Officer – Lea Hall Academy

About The Job

As the Pastoral Officer, you will contribute directly to the school’s strong safeguarding culture, good behaviour and high attendance. You must be passionate about making a genuine difference to the young boys we support and put them at the heart of everything we do.

Day-to-day, your role will include…

  • Providing timely support to senior leaders, teachers and other staff in ensuring that safeguarding and behaviour incidents are reported and recorded appropriately.
  • Communicating with parents/carers and other appropriate stakeholders in relation to safeguarding and behaviour incidents, so that the right people know what they need to know at the right time.
  • Liaising with senior leaders, the Trust Designated Safeguarding Lead (and Trust Safeguarding Lead) to support the timely completion of follow up tasks and actions arising from behaviour and safeguarding incidents.
  • Supporting senior leaders and teachers in the pursuit of the best possible attendance of all pupils.

About You

Experience of safeguarding and behaviour support work in a school setting is preferable. We would love to hear how your experience has led you to communicate with a host of key stakeholders.

What else would we like to see from you?

  • Do you have experience of working with SEND students?
  • Are you able to build rapport and trust?
  • Will you strive for the best possible outcomes for our students?
  • Do you have relevant Safeguarding training?
  • Can you be adaptable to changing priorities and working flexibly?
  • Can you demonstrate good initiative in dealing with challenging situations?
  • Are you an engaging communicator, both verbally and in writing?
  • Are you always looking for development opportunities to enhance your own ability?
