Led by the team from Rock and Roll Experience, the session offers an opportunity for staff to come together in a different way. Guided by a professional singer, colleagues will learn and perform parts of a well-known rock anthem before joining together as one choir.
For this year’s conference, the chosen song is Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now.
The session is designed to be fully inclusive, with no prior singing experience required. It provides a supportive environment where everyone can take part, build confidence and contribute to a collective performance. As voices come together, the focus is on participation, enjoyment and the shared experience.
There is also a growing body of evidence that highlights the wider benefits of singing. Taking part in group singing has been shown to support wellbeing, reduce stress and create a strong sense of connection between individuals. It encourages controlled breathing, supports focus and can have a positive impact on mood and confidence. In a busy school environment, these moments to pause, reset and engage collectively are particularly valuable.
Rock and Roll Experience was founded to deliver engaging and memorable team-building events that foster genuine connection. With a background in music, education and large-scale events, the team brings a wealth of experience in creating sessions that motivate and unite groups.
At Forward Education Trust, we recognise the importance of creating opportunities for staff to connect beyond their day-to-day roles. This session reflects our wider commitment to supporting wellbeing, strengthening relationships and building a sense of shared identity across our schools.
We look forward to seeing colleagues take part and to the sense of energy and togetherness this session will bring to the conference.
